THE IMAGINED BRIEF
What would the visitor need?
An imagined objects label needs to let shoppers understand materials, compare pieces and explore a collection without false stock or checkout promises.
ZX7 / SELF-INITIATED WEBSITE CASE STUDY
What exists is this functioning editorial website prototype, its page hierarchy, original illustration assets and tested interactions. The editorial e-commerce brand, project details and proposed business are imagined. This is not commissioned client work.
THE IMAGINED BRIEF
An imagined objects label needs to let shoppers understand materials, compare pieces and explore a collection without false stock or checkout promises.
THE CORE IDEA
Treat every product page like a small exhibition: form first, then a useful explanation, then an honest next step.
DESIGN DECISION · 01 / Image hierarchy
Oversized first-party object drawings show proportion and silhouette before decorative sales language.
DESIGN DECISION · 02 / Material context
A dedicated materials page connects surface, finish and care language to the objects instead of hiding it in tiny product specifications.
DESIGN DECISION · 03 / Real navigation
Collection and individual object routes preserve browsing context; people can move through the work rather than jump between static posters.
DESIGN DECISION · 04 / Honest interaction
The sample bag uses session-only local state. There is no payment, order, stock or fulfilment system, and it never pretends otherwise.
ACROSS DEVICES
On a phone the collection collapses to readable single-column detail, clear image order and reachable bag controls; on desktop the editorial balance has room for slower comparison.
TEST NEXT
Put the prototype in front of five real shoppers and ask each to find a material, compare two objects and explain what the bag would do. Fix unclear copy or paths before any commerce integration.
THE HONEST BOUNDARY
Everything is fictional: no real object inventory, pricing validation, customer reviews, orders or commercial results. This is a front-end prototype, not a record of client work or business outcomes.
