THE IMAGINED BRIEF
What would the visitor need?
An imagined retreat should help people understand the character of a stay, compare rooms and get to an enquiry route without manufactured urgency.
ZX7 / SELF-INITIATED WEBSITE CASE STUDY
What exists is this functioning editorial website prototype, its page hierarchy, original illustration assets and tested interactions. The boutique hospitality brand, project details and proposed business are imagined. This is not commissioned client work.
THE IMAGINED BRIEF
An imagined retreat should help people understand the character of a stay, compare rooms and get to an enquiry route without manufactured urgency.
THE CORE IDEA
Let the pace of the page evoke quiet while keeping room details and practical choices easy to find.
DESIGN DECISION · 01 / Slower editorial rhythm
Generous spacing and original environment drawings communicate atmosphere without unlicensed destination photography.
DESIGN DECISION · 02 / Room-led navigation
Distinct room pages encourage meaningful comparison instead of one endless promotional scroll.
DESIGN DECISION · 03 / Rituals before slogans
A dedicated rituals page makes the experience legible, but describes a hypothetical offering rather than a real itinerary.
DESIGN DECISION · 04 / No fake booking inventory
Enquiry controls demonstrate the journey without asserting room availability, a staffed desk or a real reservation.
ACROSS DEVICES
On small phones the room paths and enquiry remain explicit and touch friendly; on wide screens imagery and copy can breathe while preserving reading order.
TEST NEXT
Test whether first-time guests can name the differences between rooms and find enquiry in under a minute. Replace every proposed amenity and policy with verified property data before a real launch.
THE HONEST BOUNDARY
No real location, rooms, reservations, reviews, prices or hospitality operation. This is a front-end prototype, not a record of client work or business outcomes.
